Not sure where to start? Bring your horn to the shop for Jacob take a look at it. Tell him about those little quirks that you’ve just dealt with over the years (squirrely notes, slow/sticking valves, any unusual noises, etc). He will explain what he sees (and hears) from a technical standpoint, and suggest options to address the issues. Improving your horn’s performance can be something as simple as refitting a brace, or as significant as major overhaul - and anywhere in between. We believe that a clean, well maintained horn adds immensely to your playing experience. As a rule of thumb, we recommend light or standard cleanings annually, and heavy cleanings once every few years.
Light - $350
Valves-in cleaning (degreasing).Standard - $400
Disassemble horn (including valves), clean in ultrasonic tank, reassemble horn, light rotor descaling as needed. New strings.Heavy - $550
Disassemble horn (including valves). Clean in ultrasonic tank. Heavy corrosion removal from inside casings of valve rotors, inner & outer slides. Reassemble horn. New strings. -
